Beadnell Bay from Long Nanny print 0078 Beadnell on the Northumbrian coast was once a small fishing and lime producing village on the Northumberland coast. Today these smelly, smok y traditional occupations are long gone. And it is now a favourite holiday spot, with a large variety of holiday accommodation and facilities, making it one of the most popular destinations for visitors on the coast. The beautiful sheltered sandy bay is perfect for kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing and scuba diving. Every year The National Trust Rangers and volunteers supervise the Long Nanny shorebird nesting site, to ensure that holidaymakers don't disturb the breeding terns and plovers. During this period, a section of beach is closed to walkers and the path is diverted over the dunes. This was the viewpoint for this print, looking up the coast to the abandonded lime kilns next to the small harbour.
