Pole Beans - A grex of pole beans grown and saved by our donors all over the country, ready to begin landracing. Maximum Diversity Beans - Several young landraces have been brought together along with many heirloom donations. The vast bulk of this mix is Phaseolus vulgaris, but I spotted cowpeas and tepary beans as well as a little sweet corn that I removed as I found it but there was enough that surely some slipped through. Earliest common dry beans - Bred by Joseph Lofthouse and grown by both Joseph and Julia Dakin, we expect these beans to primarily exhibit a bush-bean growth habit and produce pods earlier than most. These have been selected for production of dry beans, but many of them will produce very good snap beans as well.
