But we are in the sixth mass extinction and stand to lose 40% of species in the U.S. due to habitat loss and fragmentation, unrestrained development, resource extraction, invasive species and disease — all compounded by climate change. For generations, we have recognized our moral duty to conserve and protect the diversity of wildlife and special places that make our country unique.
