Ziggy Re-blooming Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) is a fiesta in a flower. Its sunny yellow standards (upright petals) light up the intense purple and white of the falls (drooping pe tals) for a summer wake up that is hard to beat. Re-blooming and sweetly fragrant, it is low care, deer resistant and water thrifty. Cut or pop off spent blooms once they are done and cut back the leaves to six-inch fans after the first frost. They multiply and spread as the years pass too, so every 4 years or so, after flowering, cut them back, and gently dig them up.
