In 1996, one of the most celebrated arcade video gaming franchises was born! SNK's 'Metal Slug' introduced gamers to a war epic unlike any other. Blasting away at waves of 'dot mat rix' enemies on a side-scrolling landscape, for the first time ever a character mid-game could enter different types of vehicles to control and smash hordes of enemy gunfire. Of those vehicles, the 'Super Vehicle-001' tank became synonymous with the game.
