Becane trees ripen one crop of small figs with a unique peachy flavor. The flavor matches the sunset colors of this beautiful and rare variety. The main crop of these figs typically begins ripening in August and continues to ripen until October. In addition to small figs, this plant produces mostly 5-lobed leaves with wavy margins. Becane is well known as a part of the collection of Professor Pierre Rivals of Universite Paul Sabatier de Toulouse in France. The variety is also associated famed fig grower Pierre Baud. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
