A heavy gauge steel handle with cushion grip provides support for getting in and out of bed. The base is placed under the mattress and a safety strap secures the base to the bed. This anchors the support into place and then lets the user rely on it for assistance. As the base goes under the mattress, the only exposed part is the handle, which is relatively small. This means that the size is compact and causes little obstruction when in place by the bed. For individuals with mobility issues, they could be put off travelling as they know the bed they will use may not be accessible for them.
