The processing is the point: Bedsoft state it has a very low dust content, which is the single biggest difference between a straw bed that suits a horse and one that does not. Bedsoft also say the processing leaves the straw more unpalatable than conventional, unprocessed wheat straw, which helps discourage bed eating — worth knowing if straw has been ruled out on your yard for that reason alone.
