Mason bees are very valuable specialist pollinators of native and cultivated fruit trees such as apples, cherries, almonds and related plants in the rose family, plus berries and f ew other crops. These bees will forage for pollen mainly on flowers when they are available, but may visit a much wider variety of flowers for nectar. These bees are only active for about 2 months in mid-spring.
