Master Distiller and Production Philosophy Under the guidance of master blender Desmond Payne, Beefeater 24 aims to retain the bold, juniper-centric character of the original while layering subtleties through additional botanicals and a prolonged maceration (24 hours) step. Source of Ingredients (Grain, Water, Yeast) The base spirit is a neutral grain spirit (from wheat or grain mash). Botanicals include the traditional Beefeater core (juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, lemon & orange peel, etc.) plus added elements: Japanese sencha tea, Chinese green tea, grapefruit peel, and almond. Distillation Process Botanicals are macerated for 24 hours in the spirit before distillation — a longer steep than typical London Dry gins. The mixture is then distilled in copper stills, keeping the heart cut and discarding heads and tails to maintain purity. Maturation & Cask Information As a gin, Beefeater 24 is not matured in wood. It is bottled soon after distillation / blending and filtering. Tasting Notes Nose: Juniper, bright citrus (grapefruit, lemon), subtle tea leaf aroma, with herbal and slightly nutty undertones. Palate: Balanced citrus and juniper core, mild bitterness from grapefruit peel, green tea vegetal note, light spice, almond softness.
