Candy cane beets are also known as Chioggia beets, and are characterized by the distinctive red and white concentric circles that radiate out of the centre of this beautiful root v egetable. Often sweeter, and less earthy than other varieties, one of the benefits of cooking with Candy Cane is that it is far less likely to stain your fingers! Can be eaten raw as a crunchy addition in a salad. Roasted, steamed, sauted and pickled are also popular ways to enjoy! Candy Cane beets were originally discovered in Chioggia, a small town on the Adriatic coast of Italy, in the Veneto region.
