Instructor: Drew Rankin of Drewski Glass Type of glass used: Borosilicate/C.O.E. 33 This 4-week introductory course is for students with little or no boro glass experience. This co urse includes a brief introduction to borosilicate glass, its place in the history of lampworking, the fundamentals of heat and rotation and studio safety. Students will receive a guided exploration of boro glass, including colour, some methods of colour application and the specific tools and techniques used to create sculptural pieces. Students will also benefit from teacher demonstrations. Over the course of the 4 weeks, students will make a leaf pendant, a honey dipper, a ring, and an animal figurine Tools and materials are provided for the class.
