Beginner Pottery Package This package is designed for those new to pottery, whether you're trying it for the first time or looking to refine your wheel-throwing skills. The minimum age to participate in this class is 15 years old and above. What’s Included: Four 2-hour lecture and practical sessions with an instructor Four supervised practice sessions with an instructor available for guidance and demonstrations 10 kg of Porcelain Session Breakdown Day 1: Introduction to Wheel Throwing and Rams Head Wedging Focus: Centering the clay, pulling walls, and ensuring air-free wedged clay. Goal: Create five bowls and five cups, each weighing 1 lb, with even and consistent shapes. Note: If unfinished, we’ll continue during the next session. Learning at your own pace is important. Day 2: Large Forms Focus: Working with 2 lbs of clay. Goal: Create three large bowls and three large cups. Day 3: Trimming and Design Focus: Understanding lines and curves that enhance a vessel’s beauty. Goal: Trim all your pieces to meet the design standards discussed in the lecture. Day 4: Glazing Techniques Focus: Applying glaze evenly and exploring various glazing techniques. Goal: Master proper glaze application to enhance the aesthetics of your work. Practice Sessions Practice sessions are typically scheduled on the same day after your class. If same-day practice sessions aren’t feasible, we’ll discuss alternative arrangements with you in person and follow up in writing to ensure the schedule works for you.
