Over 4 weeks, you will transform raw clay into finished ceramic pieces, learning the core rhythm of the throwing on the pottery wheel. Week 1: Foundations – Introduction to clay preparation (wedging), centering on the wheel, and throwing the fundamental cylinder. Week 2: Form & Curves – Moving beyond the cylinder to explore form and curves, focusing on bowls and tapered vases. Week 3: Trimming – Learning the art of trimming and refining your leather-hard pieces to add professional detail and foot rings. Week 4: Glazing – An introduction to glazing techniques to bring colour and vitrification to your work.
