Instructor: Marnet Hazard Skill level: This is not a Learn-to-Sew or how to use your sewing machine class. It is assumed you have a working knowledge of your sewing machine, i.e. how to thread the machine and wind the bobbin. Number of Sessions: This class is five (5) sessions. Valuable information and new techniques will be discussed in each session. Maximum enrollment: 6If this class is full, you may add your name and email address here to be notified when a new class opens. Learn the skills needed to create a 4 or 6 Block Sampler Quilt top – from start to finish - including rotary cutting, piecing techniques, piecing the blocks, adding sashing and borders, and creating and basting your quilt “sandwich” in preparation for quilting. Marnet will demonstrate basic machine quilting techniques, using a walking foot to quilt straight or wavy lines. In the final class you will learn to bind your quilt. You decide whether you want to make a 4 block wall-hanging, a table runner or a 6-block small lap or baby quilt. If you choose the six block variation, you will be given instructions on how to make a variation of blocks taught in class. Homework between class sessions will be needed to enable you to complete your quilt in the sessions allotted. Consistent access to a sewing machine that you can bring to class is essential. Make-up classes are not offered unless the entire class must be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances. In the case of a missed session, the instructor may be able to share the lesson plan and homework with the student, but she will not be expected to hold a make-up session, nor change the plans of the next class so that students can catch up. No refunds will be offered for missed sessions. Supply Lists for our classes can be downloaded here anytime. If you need to cancel your class registration, we require 24 hours' notice to transfer to another class or receive a refund in the form of a store gift card.
