The Belimo B209B is a high-performance 1/2" 2-way characterized control valve designed specifically for demanding HVACR applications. Engineered with a nickel-plated forged brass body and a chrome-plated brass ball, this valve provides exceptional durability and chemical resistance in hydronic systems. Its integrated Tefzel characterized disc ensures a true equal percentage flow characteristic, allowing for stable control and preventing the "hunting" common in standard ball valves. With a 0.8 Cv rating and a 600 psi body pressure rating, the B209B is the professional choice for regulating chilled or hot water and 60% glycol solutions in air handling units and VAV reheat coils. Key Benefits for Technicians: Precise Modulation: The equal percentage flow curve matches coil heat transfer characteristics for linear thermal output. High Force Resistance: Features a 200 psi close-off pressure rating to prevent leakage in high-head pressure systems. Maintenance-Free Design: Utilizing EPDM O-rings and PTFE seats, the Belimo B209B eliminates the need for packing adjustments. Versatile Compatibility: Seamlessly pairs with Belimo non-spring return (TR, LRB) and spring return (TFRB, LF) actuators. Common Questions: What is the maximum fluid temperature for the B209B? This valve is rated for a maximum media temperature of 212°F (100°C), making it suitable for standard hot water heating and chilled water cooling cycles. Can this valve be used for steam applications? No, the Belimo B209B is specifically designed for water and glycol solutions. For steam, a stainless steel trim or globe valve equivalent should be sourced. How do I ensure proper flow direction? The valve must be installed with the characterizing disc located on the upstream side (Port A) to ensure the equal percentage flow performance is maintained.
