The Mini Griptilian is the full-size Grip taken down about three quarters of an inch and most of an ounce — enough that it stops being a knife you notice on your belt and starts being one you forget is there. Everything that makes the standard Griptilian work carries over: glass-filled Grivory handles that shrug off water, a CPM-S30V blade at 58-60 HRC, and the AXIS lock that opens and closes one-handed from either side. At 2.68 ounces with a 2.91" blade it is genuinely pocketable. Two blade choices. The sheepsfoot has a blunt tip and a dead-straight edge — the safer option in a boat, and it will not puncture what is underneath what you are cutting. The serrated drop-point is the one for rope, webbing and netting; it cuts them far better than a plain edge and is much harder to sharpen at home. At $150 it is the least expensive Benchmade folder we stock, and it is the one we most often hand to someone buying their first.
