Professional brake system cleaning that leaves zero residue for optimal brake performance and safety. Product Overview The Bendix BBC4 Brake Cleaner is a professional-grade 400g aerosol spray designed for thorough brake system cleaning without compromising component integrity. This non-corrosive, non-staining formula is essential for mechanics and DIY enthusiasts who demand workshop-quality results. Ideal for cleaning disc rotors after machining and preparing brake pads before installation, it evaporates completely without leaving residue that could affect brake performance or bedding-in. The 400g canister provides ample coverage for multiple brake jobs, making it a workshop staple for anyone maintaining passenger vehicles, 4WDs, or light commercial setups. Key Specifications Product code BBC4 specifically formulated for brake system applications 400g net weight aerosol canister for extended use Non-corrosive formula safe for all brake metals and finishes Non-staining composition protects surrounding components and paintwork Zero-residue evaporation ensures clean surface for optimal brake pad contact Compatible with disc brake systems, rotors, calipers, and brake hardware Suitable for pre-installation cleaning of new brake pads and machined rotors Features & Benefits Non-Corrosive Formula — Safely cleans brake components without attacking metal surfaces, aluminium calipers, or protective coatings. Critical for modern multi-material brake systems where harsh chemicals can cause long-term damage or accelerated wear. Zero Residue Evaporation — Leaves absolutely nothing behind after cleaning. Essential for proper brake pad bedding and optimal friction coefficient. Residue-free surfaces prevent contamination that could cause squealing, reduced stopping power, or uneven pad wear during the critical break-in period. Non-Staining Protection — Won't discolour rotors, calipers, or surrounding paintwork. Particularly valuable when working on show vehicles or when maintaining the aesthetic appearance of alloy wheels and brake components visible through modern open-spoke designs. Post-Machining Application — Purpose-designed for cleaning disc rotors after lathe work. Removes machining oils, metal particles, and surface contaminants that would otherwise transfer to new brake pads and compromise initial braking performance. Pre-Installation Cleaning — Prepares brake pads by removing protective coatings and manufacturing residues. Ensures the friction material makes proper contact from the first application, reducing bedding time and improving initial brake feel. Technical Specs Brand: Bendix Part Number: BBC4 Product Type: Aerosol brake cleaner Net Weight: 400g Formula: Non-corrosive, non-staining Residue: None (complete evaporation) Application Method: Aerosol spray Unit of Measure: Each Frequently Asked Questions What surfaces can this brake cleaner be used on? Safe for all brake system components including disc rotors, brake pads, calipers, backing plates, and brake hardware. Suitable for steel, cast iron, aluminium, and coated surfaces. Does this leave any residue after cleaning? No. The formula evaporates completely without leaving any residue, ensuring optimal brake pad contact and proper friction coefficient for safe braking performance. Is this safe to use on all brake components? Yes. The non-corrosive, non-staining formula is safe for all brake metals, finishes, and surrounding paintwork. Won't damage calipers, rotors, or wheel finishes. How much area does one 400g can cover? One canister typically handles 4-6 complete brake jobs depending on contamination levels. Sufficient for cleaning all four wheels on most passenger vehicles with standard cleaning requirements. Can this be used on both disc and drum brakes? Primarily designed for disc brake systems. While safe on drum brake components, the aerosol delivery is optimized for cleaning disc rotors and calipers rather than enclosed drum assemblies. Compatible With / Goes Well With Compatible Systems: All passenger vehicle disc brake systems 4WD and SUV brake assemblies Light commercial vehicle brakes Performance and heavy-duty brake setups Aftermarket big brake kits Recommended Companion Products: Bendix brake pads (all applications) Bendix brake rotors (machined or replacement) Brake pad anti-squeal compounds Brake caliper service kits Copper-free brake grease Note: Designed for disc brake applications.
