G&M took over Benromach in 1993 and as you would expect, they are producing some fantastic and highly acclaimed whisky. The Benromach Cask Strength Batch 1 2009 is produced using a mix of First-fill Sherry and Ex-Bourbon casks. The spirit is aged for 10 years and then bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.8%. This is an intense and richly complex dram, with sherry kicks, stewed fruits, beeswax polish, vanilla pods and a cloud of delicate peat smoke.
