Description ❯ Benzaldehyde is a powerful aromatic aldehyde with a bitter almond, cherry stone, marzipan, and sweet kernel character. It does not behave like a soft gourmand material. Benzaldehyde arrives fast, reads clearly, and can dominate a blend even at modest levels. Its role is to give the opening lift and definition while separating notes that might otherwise feel blurred; that is particularly useful in almond accords, cherry effects, gourmand perfumes, soaps, candles, and flavour-inspired fragrance work. With Benzaldehyde, the almond & cherry effect is most useful when it strengthens the intended accord rather than drawing attention to the raw material itself. Its limitation appears at higher levels, where the result can become cloying or artificial.
