Berberine has a reputation for being difficult. It is a plant alkaloid that the gut absorbs poorly, so a good deal of an ordinary berberine capsule passes through without ever reaching circulation, and the usual answer has been simply to take more of it.This formulation takes the other approach. Each capsule carries 550mg of berberine HCl, of which 50mg is in liposomal form, using a delivery technology intended to improve uptake and extend how long the compound stays active rather than relying on brute dose.Alongside it sits 25 micrograms of chromium, also liposomal, delivered with 23mg of phospholipids from the liposomal bilayer.Taken at the start of the largest meals of the day, one to two capsules daily, which is when berberine is conventionally used.Brown rice flour, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide in a clear vegetable capsule make up the remainder.
