Captain Bergstrom was the first Austinite casualty of the war when the base he was stationed succumbed to a surprise bombing. I launched the brand in 2016 with the original Bergstrom model, and over the years not only has this model been popular, but it has seen some small tweaks and enhancements over the years. The MkIV now includes a date function including an elegantly framed date window, while still maintaining the original hand-wound mechanical movement. Although the MkIV uses the Sellita SW261, instead of the ETA 6498, the art of daily interaction with superb hand winding is still a fundamental piece of ownership. IMPORTANT: Even though the Swiss made SW261-M does have some technologies built in to prevent overwinding, this is a manual wind movement, so make sure to stop winding once you feel some tension (I recommend only 15-20 winds per day). Once you begin to feel some resistance, stop winding. You will still need to screw the crown back in and that can add a couple rotations of the crown.
