Czech bass of Jewish origin (1919-1995) who survived the Theresienstadt and Auschwitz concentration camps to become a celebrated performer in many international opera houses. Signe d photo, shown in Veselohra na mostě, a one-act "radio opera" by Bohuslav Martinu, signed in 1987.
