If you choose a fabric like a mid-weight twill or denim you will get a more structured skirt. If you choose a drapier fabric like a rayon challis or silk, you will get a flowier skirt. You may need to purchase extra yardage if your fabric has a heavy nap, is directional, striped, or has an obvious repeat.
