The soil is of lava-basaltic origin. During the day, the vines benefit from the warmth of the sun; cool nights ensure an enhanced aroma. The vines are grown on a trellis system: spurring cordon, 4,000 vines per hectare for Pinot Grigio, and 8,000 vines a hectare for Sauvignon Blanc.Grape Varieties - 50% Pinot Grigio and 50% Sauvignon BlancVinification - Grapes are fermented separately at 68°F. The two wines are blended in January after harvest, transferred to Stainless Steel and remain on their lees until the summer. The Pinot Grigio gives structure and elegance, Sauvignon Blanc lends aroma and freshness. A typically spicey Pinot Grigio nose is followed by a more opulent palate, where the mouthfilling Sauvignon Blanc adds body and an underlying smoothness to the finish. A very accomplished wine and a really successful blend. Makes an excellent aperitif, and goes very well with salads, delicate pasta dishes and white meat. Intense straw yellow color. Strongly aromatic with characteristic notes of ripened peach against a background of elder flowers typical of Sauvignon and green pepper. The strongly textured, velvety taste of Pinot, with a good sapidity, a good sweet-acid balance and an aromatic aftertaste. The Due Uve series of wines – of which Due Uve Bianco was the first to be produced by Bertani – is the result of the the judicious and harmonious synthesis of two grape varieties, chosen and brought together to bring out the best in each other. Due Uve Bianco combines the body and elegance of Pinot Grigio with the aromatic notes typical of Sauvignon Blanc, thus achieving a truly original creation rich in personality and character, a fusion of two of the world’s most famous grape varieties.
