Mount the bench using the included hardware, then fill the interior with dry pack mortar or deck mud before applying tile. Important: Do not use thin-set mortar to fill the bench. A dry pack mortar mix with approximately 4 parts sand to 1 part cement is recommended. For shower installations, slope the top mortar surface slightly toward the front edge to allow proper drainage. Once tiled, sealing the grout lines is recommended for long-term performance and moisture protection. The bench mounts using supplied hollow wall anchors and does not require direct attachment to wood studs. If framing members are present, the included pan screws may also be used. Waterproof Performance The BB-24 is engineered to maintain waterproof integrity without requiring additional waterproofing membranes.
