In her ongoing Plaster Painting Series, Sara Marlowe Hall continues to be inspired by abstract landscapes. The series of sculptural paintings reflect the coast of California, using deep blues and rich colors that reference the soil and moss along the coast and bursts of orange that bring sunshine and vibrancy into the work. Her tactile creation process of stretching each cloth dipped into acrylic and plaster brings the viewer into each painting, encouraging one to search deeply into each layer beyond the first. Show more
