Process Overview Collect ripe Shea fruits and nuts that have fallen naturally from the tree. Remove the pulp from the fruits and sort the good nuts for processing. Spread the depulped nuts in a dry, ventilated area for up to 4 days if immediate thermal treatment isn't possible. Wash the nuts thoroughly to remove impurities and eliminate any bad nuts (rotten, sprouted, immature).
