Beyond Me is a mesmerizing 48x60” original, acrylic on canvas painting, started in Quartzsite, AZ, while Artfool was living on the road. Spanning six months of creation, it became his longest and most ambitious piece at that time. Completed on New Year’s Eve (2018/2019), the artist experienced a profound sense that the painting was beyond his previous skill and imagination, as if the work had emerged from a place beyond his conscious reach; he said it was "beyond me." There’s an undeniable dreamlike, ethereal quality to the piece, influenced by a heightened state of perception, giving it a depth and energy that feels almost otherworldly; a true psychedelic painting.
