The bio-based fibers used to make Modal are produced using Edelweiss® fiber technology (see below process). The higher the percent of Modal fibers, the finer the fibers and the softer the fabrics. The oxygen-based chemistry is more eco-friendly than any other conventional process. The production of the fibers are a close-looped process (raw fabric is produced at same site as the modal fiber itself so that production can reduce energy and other resources). Modal fibers are extracted from Beechwood trees, unique to Europe for ages, producing fibers that give each and every textile a natural image and soft touch.
