When broken, the trigger resorts to 2 options: lift and lower. With the neutral spring in place, the trigger has the 3rd position 'neutral'. This improves the workability of the pallet truck by allowing the user to operate the handle (tiller arm) without the truck elevating higher than required, or putting additional strain on the hydraulic system. It is considered an essential component for the truck to operate as intended.
