Wooly Buggers first came on the scene round about the mid 1960's, tied by Russell Blessing from Pennsylvania. The BH O'Reilly Bugger is an adaption of Russell's fly. It can represe nts subsurface species of nymphs, baitfish, leeches, yabbies, shrimps and maybe a Dobsonfly nymph. Our feeling is that a Tasmanian fly tier is responsible for this version. Because of its colour it can be fished effectively in discoloured water and at night time. Show more
