Dick van Hoff's Bi Ring is the product of an extruded form: the inner circle is cap ped by a raised band, and when viewed from above, the sterling silver construction is defined as much by its negative space as by its material presence. Van Hoff is a Dutch designer whose practice sits at the intersection of industrial production and craft-based thinking. His work does not decorate so much as it distills, finding the point at which a familiar object becomes something quietly radical. The Bi Ring belongs to the collection of Chi Ha Paura, the revolutionary Dutch jewelry collective co-founded by Gijs Bakker.
