Door rake — a steeply angled opening pushes the steps forward into the door. Square to the vehicle — if the opening only lets them sit at an angle, they seat twisted, and twisted is not safe. Measuring under 28"? Neither unit is right for you — below that the 4-Step has to stretch out so far it flattens toward a ramp and stops being stable underfoot.
