Bihou exhibits outstanding winter interest with an unusual, golden yellow, apricot colored bark. Like the Coral Bark (Sango Kaku) maple, this plant will add vitality to your winter landscape, providing a pop of color when the tree has lost its leaves. Bihou is a small, vigorous upright tree that will reach 10 feet at maximum height. Fall color is brilliant yellows and oranges. The name “Bihou” means “beautiful mountain range”. Bihou is also known as Bi hoo. Bihou can have a tough time when weather is cold and wet in the spring for days-weeks at a time. Prefers sun/partial shade. Zones 6-9. Show more
