Recorded in New York in July of 1962, Bill Evans' album Interplayshowcased the pianist with fou r legendary players, trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, guitarist Jim Hall, bassist Percy Heath, and drummer Philly Joe Jones. It represents a rare treat, for up until 1962, Evans recorded primarily as a leader in the piano trio format and not with horns.
