This is a beautiful book, brimming with information and inspirational illustrations by Sarah Simblet (I must admit to having a massive illustration crush on Sarah's work!). The ori ginal Sylva (from the latin for forests) was written in 1664 by John Evelyn, it enlightened landowners on how to better manage their woodlands. This New Sylva was published to mark the anniversary of Evelyn's work, it celebrates mankind's relationships with trees through an integration of history science and art. I try to visit woodland as often as I can and through all seasons, this book educates me on what I see there and encourages me to learn more about the land. You will love it too. Billy 😊 Show more
