for the weekend as well as some great affordable print and gifting options. Coffy’s vibrant acrylic paintings feature darlings from the animal kingdom in a dynamic, layered effect with mixed media elements. Artist Joshua Coffy will be hanging out with us all weekend and this will be a great chance to meet the artist and get some insight into his artwork. Joshua Coffy was born in 1976 in Tuscarawas, Ohio. He is a self taught artist who works primarily in acrylic paints. The artists fuses vibrant colors with mixed media to create a sense of depth and juxtaposition in his artworks. His subject matter deals almost exclusively with the animal kingdom, making statements about the connection between man and beast. He now lives and works in San Francisco. "I paint a lot of birds. I have been interested in them since I was a little boy. My Grandmother loved them and loved teaching me about them. My interest in them only grew stronger as I got older. I am very passionate about nature and animals...I also like to explore how animals resemble us as other animals and as a society. I have many questions to ask and I never want to stop painting." This piece will be on exhibit through December 6, 2014 and will be shipped within a week of the exhibition closing date.
