The mix is made up of; Michigan Merino wool and natural jute, along with White pine needles and organic field grasses from Northeastern Michigan landscape. Product Details: Merino Wool: the wool has been cleaned, carded and handled organically. All material strands are also no longer than 2 “ – as requested by the Cornell Lab, to help prevent matting/tangling for the safety of the birds. 100% Merino wool is sourced from Michigan sheep ranches: The partnering ranches take pride in their low carbon footprint and humane care for their sheep. The Merino wool is mite, mold and mildew resistant, fire retardant and water repellent. These factors leave no worries if birds build in structures where they really shouldn’t.
