Ruminant animals have 4 stomach com partments through which food moves during the digestion process. Green tripe is a term used to refer to tripe that has not been washed and still contains remnants of the animal's stomach contents. Although green tripe can sometimes have a green tint due to the greenery these animals feed on, it is most commonly brown.
