Embroidered patch mounted over embroidery stitched directly through a vinyl record sleeve. 12x12x2 inches, framed in acrylic. Miles Davis is a jazz icon that went through a lot of different musical phases during his storied career. From traditional jazz to explosive jazz fusion. For my first Miles Davis album I chose Bitches Brew, his 1970 release. The album cover is a painting with multiple focal points. There is a couple on the beach, swirling clouds, a giant flower and a face in profile. I embroidered the whole cover using wool thread in varying stitch lengths and densities. The album title was created as a gradient patch and mounted onto the album. Show more
