This solvent based acrylic primer effectively etches with the existing bitumen system creating a strong physical bond. The cured primed surface promotes adhesion of acrylic decorat ive coatings. The complete system is especially effective when lighter colour (cream and pastel) top coats are used. With the use of Bitucryl Primer consumers now have a choice when deciding on a colour for their roof finishes. Avoid using Bitucryl Primer on bitumen systems and bituminous aluminium coatings that are less than 3 months old. Being solvent based, if Bitucryl primer is over applied onto any bitumen surface, the solvent will soften the bitumen compound. A light coat of Bitucryl Primer is all that is required.
