Add a bold, unique look to your aquarium with the striking Black Devil Snail. Known for its long, cone-shaped shell and dark earthy tones, this species brings both visual appeal and practical benefits to any freshwater setup. 🌿 Key Features Scientific Name: Faunus ater Common Name: Black Devil Snail Size: Up to 8–10 cm Temperament: Peaceful Care Level: Easy Diet: Algae, biofilm, detritus 🐠 Why Choose Black Devil Snails? These snails are excellent clean-up crew members, constantly grazing on algae and organic waste. They help keep your tank tidy while adding a natural, wild aesthetic—perfect for planted tanks and aquascapes. ⚠️ Shell Appearance (Important Note) Black Devil Snails often show erosion or wear on the tip of their shell. This is very common and completely normal, especially in wild caught ones. It does not affect their health or activity. Over time, with good water quality (stable pH, adequate minerals like calcium), new shell growth will appear healthier and darker toward the opening. 💧 Care Requirements Temperature: 22–28°C pH: 7.0–8.5 (alkaline preferred for shell health) GH: Moderate to high (for strong shell growth) Substrate: Sand or fine gravel (they enjoy burrowing) 🥬 Feeding Primarily feeds on: Natural algae and biofilm Leftover fish food Supplement with algae wafers or blanched vegetables if needed
