The Ditty Bag began with the historical sailors' ditty - a small pouch carried at sea to hold tools and sewing kits. I wanted to reinterpret this utilitarian object through Italian craftsmanship, so I worked with artisans to develop a custom water-resistant neoprene that could be hand-woven. By weaving the material directly through the surface of the bag, I've given the traditional Italian intreccio technique a contemporary twist.
