FIVE TRACK FRONT WHEEL From London’s Herne Hill Velodrome to the Colorado Springs Velodrome, and every openair velodrome in between, the Black Inc FIVE Track carbon tubular front wheel has been specifically designed to excel in these types of facilities where airflow is more turbulent and less predictable than indoor velodromes. The Black Inc FIVE Track uses a five spoke design combined with a 60 mm tubular rim profile to provide the ideal mix of straight-line aerodynamic efficiency with an ability to excel in group racing dynamics or in openair velodromes where wind conditions can be unpredictable. The tubular rim uses an external width of 28 mm and is optimised for 700c x 23 mm tyres. Uniquely, the FIVE Track is available in three different hub variations: a 40mm x 12 TA, a 100mm x 12 TA, and a 100mm x M10 bolt hub width option. The mix of high modulus T-800 and T-100 carbon fibre in the layup ensures supreme rigidity and blade-like precision when accelerating through the track banking. The water transfer decals with a TEXTREME high polish glossy clearcoat highlight the Black Inc FIVE Track with an elegant finish. Optimized for 23 mm tires, the Zero Track wheelset offers a level of rigidity that ensures medal-winning power transfer. Optimized in collaboration with Aus Cycling, the Black Inc ZERO Track disc wheels prioritize stiffness, with aerodynamic performance optimized for track conditions. To enhance rigidity, the wheels feature buttressed internal flanges, creating shear walls between the opposite wheel faces. This new technology which we’ve pioneered allows for the optimization and reduction of several stiffness plies in the overall layup of both front and rear wheels. Extreme attention to detail in the alignment, cutting, and layout of the top layer of Spread Tow fibers (TexTreme) enabled us to eschew any cosmetic outer layer. Instead we’ve used a high polished surface finish, which extensive wind tunnel testing with the AusCycling project proved to be the most aerodynamic.
