The Black Mark is a blendable two input bass amp that has individual volume controls for each channel and a shared EQ for both. The two inputs offer different voicings which can be used individually or blended together either by plugging into the shared 3rd input or by splitting the signal and manually plugging into 1 and 2 simultaneously. Input 1 is more grindy and can distort easily when cranked. Input 2 is voiced to be more of a “normal” style of bass amp sound where the sound is more clean, deep, full and heavy. Each input has it's own volume control to dial in how clean or dirty the preamp signal is or to balance the overall volume of each input when blending. EQ consists of Treble, Middle, Mid FRQ, and Bass. Mid FRQ allows a sweepable midrange frequency to be selected and Middle sets the mid frequency volume. Master and Presence control the volume and frequency response of the power amp. An extra switch on the back was added to adjust the overall preamp gain to a high or low setting. With switch up in the + position the preamp has a bit more gain but it also shifts the frequency response somewhat so it is worth trying each way regardless of your playing style. Clean and distorted sounds can be dialed in on both settings. Back panel has two parallel speaker outputs with selectable 2, 4 or 8 ohm impedance switch, a line out with volume knob, and +/- Preamp Gain switch.
