A brand new lacquered natsume tea caddy used during the tea ceremony. This natsume has the Japanese national emblem and a chrysanthemum crest in gold. Traditionally used to store m atcha for usucha (thin tea) during the tea ceremony. Natsume are not airtight so typically matcha is taken from its tin or bag and sieved into the natsume before the tea ceremony is performed.
