A brand new lacquered natsume tea caddy used during the tea ceremony. This natsume has maki-e decoration of bamboo in gold. Traditionally used to store matcha for usucha (thin tea) during the tea ceremony. Natsume are not airtight so typically matcha is taken from its tin or bag and sieved into the natsume before the tea ceremony is performed.
