Broad Street at night, empty, in black and white.Shooting it with nobody on it lets you read the street as architecture — the row of storefronts stepping away on the left with thei r windows lit, palmettos and bare trees breaking the line, the lamps burning as starbursts, and St. Michael's steeple standing white at the far end of it. There is a bicycle leaning at the curb and a gallery sign hanging out over the sidewalk. No cars moving, no people.Black, white and very still.
