This small white leatherjacket mimics the poisonous the Blacksaddle Toby, Canthigaster valentini. The Blacksaddle Filefish differs from the pufferfish in having a dorsal-fin spine, longer dorsal and anal-fin bases, the pectoral-fin base in front of the first body saddle (vs behind in the pufferfish), and four yellow spines on the tail base.
